During our last holiday at Tenerife we also visited the beautiful island of La Gomera. At La Gomera we were presented with a nice demonstration of the unique whistled language "Silbo Gomero".
Information by wikipedia: Silbo Gomero ("El Silbo" or "Gomeran Whistle") is a whistled language spoken by inhabitants of La Gomera in the Canary Islands to communicate across the deep ravines and narrow valleys (barrancos) that radiate through the island. Read more at wikipedia or read the attached pdf file (its in Spanish) with the official course material for the language to learn.
